Does the fear of not being a “good enough” parent keep you up at night?
You may be wondering whether you are ready.
Whether you will know what to do.
Whether you will be calm, patient, and present when your baby needs you most.
These worries are common, especially when you care deeply about becoming a good parent.
But your baby does not need you to have every answer.
Your baby doesn’t need you to be perfect.
Your baby needs you to be present.
Mindfulness can help you quiet the anxious thoughts, trust yourself more deeply, and return to the moment unfolding in front of you.
A Personal Invitation from M.J.
If you’ve ever found yourself lying awake wondering whether you’ll be a “good enough” parent, you’re not alone.
I created this workshop because I've spent my life supporting families as a midwife, doula, childbirth educator, and mindfulness teacher. I've also raised five children and learned that perfection isn't what children need most.
In this free 60-minute workshop, I'll share the mindfulness practices that have helped me, and the parents I've worked with, let go of self-doubt, calm an anxious mind, and approach parenthood with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Experience six gentle practices to help calm your mind, relax your body, and bring you back to the present moment whenever anxiety begins to take over.
Quiet your inner critic.

MEET M.J.
Hi, I'm M.J. Schwartz.
I'm a mindfulness teacher, a recovering perfectionist, and the mother and stepmother of five adult children. I'm also the proud grandmother of two amazing grandchildren.
For more than 36 years, mindfulness has been one of the greatest gifts in my own life. It's helped me navigate uncertainty, quiet my inner critic, and return to what matters most.
Long before I became a mindfulness teacher, I spent many years supporting families as a doula, childbirth educator, and midwife. Later, I returned to college in midlife to study psychology, where I focused on perfectionism with one of the leading researchers in the field.
Over the years, I've discovered something I wish every expectant parent knew:
The goal isn’t to become a perfect parent,
The goal is to become a present one.
That's why I created the Perfectly Imperfect workshop and the body of work that has grown from it.
My hope is that every person who joins this workshop leaves feeling a little lighter, a little calmer, and a little more confident in themselves.
Because your baby doesn’t need you to be perfect.
Your baby needs you to be present.
